Hi Where can i get chrome engine dress up parts for a Rover V8 (alternator and bracket etc) :???:
Also anyone know where to get chrome (type) powder coating done
Thanks
Ian
you can get silver powder coat, but not chrome as far as i know. look in yellow ages for your local supplier.
chrome alternators can be oprchased from pop browns, or you could try one of the Rover engine specialists. they are also usually on offer at the stoneliegh show in May

Looks like RPI do some powder coated bits and they list them on E-bay.
E-bay rover chrome (http://shop.ebay.co.uk/?_from=R40&_trksid=p3907.m38.l1313&_nkw=rover+v8+chrome&_sacat=See-All-Categories)
I did get a chrome alternator bracket from RPI a long time ago as my SD1 engine for my Land Rover was missing the alternator bracket. It looked good to start with but soon rusted so fairly cheap chrome plate I think.
Repower does a chrome alternator that I have on my Chevy but not sure if it would fit on the Rover bracket.

Hi Ian
There are all kinds of alternatives to Powder Coat available these days, try picking up a copy of Streetfighters bike magazine (it's a shit read but there's usually a lot of ads for various fancy coatings).
If you do want powder coat, there was an outfit I used to use in Newcastle but the quality seemed to go downhill few years ago, they were on a trading estate out the east end, possibly Wallsend. I'd recommend Triple-S just north of Leeds (if they're still on the go).

Hi
You can buy your own powder coating equiptment(diy powder coating systems (http://www.electrostaticmagic.co.uk/)) and custom powders like chrome. Nigel Dean used this system on his Dax Rush Chrome on his inlet manifold, and sump(Nigel Dean, Kit Car magazine (http://www.nigeldean.co.uk/chapter6.htm))

The kit works great and easy.
Regards Phil.
