I've posted this in the wanted adverts but it's bit of a question too.

I believe Dax used to make their own pedal pads that were similar to the AC ones being sold here (https://www.europaspares.com/COBRA_SPARES/MECHANICAL/AC_ALLOY_PEDAL_PADS__FLAT_BACKED____CS813__4708.ht ml) but instead of having the AC logo in the centre they had the Dax logo.

As I don't have AC or Cobra written anywhere on my car I don't really want to start now so does anyone have any knowledge of these pedal pads or did I dream about them?

Even better if anyone has a set gathering dust in the garage I want to buy them.

Cheers

Craig.

At least I know they do exist now and I didn't imagine them!
I will contact dax next week but I'm fairly sure they don't sell them anymore.

Wake up Craig M8. Don't you remember this very subject a while back brought up due to the 'Dax' pedals in my cob?

There was a wrecked Dax V12 down this way and I offered to see if the pedals would be up for sale.

......Yep, but not these 'AC' look alike version. They are more conventional. I'm sure Andicole0 posted some pics of his here and on his blog.

Post 8 shows the newer pedal box.

Ahhhh, So that's where I saw them before. When you get to my age the memory starts to fade! I even posted on that thread too!

Yes, they are the ones I want and if anyone know of any lying about spare I would be very interested in buying them.

I think Dax had to change to the rubber pads for SVA purposes. I seem to recall a requirement for non slip pads on the pedals and I think the ones I have now are simple push on Rubber ones from a Mini.

Another thought.....

Would anyone have a set they would be willing to lend to me?

I could take a rubber mould from them, then produce a resin pattern from that mould.
There is a working museum fairly local to me where they still do sand casting so I could get a set cast in aluminium or even brass. They could be quite cheap if we wanted a few sets.

Just as a matter of interest because I don't know if anyone is aware of this but S&J who advertise in Snake Torque actually sell a pack of the three rubber pads that go on the dax pedal assembly and they are not very expensive. Oh, just one other thing, I have replaced the horrible plastic bushes on the pedal tubes with phosphor bronze items. All you need to do is bore out the tubes a little and cut a small amount from each end. It makes an amazing difference to the pedal feel. I'll send a picture if anyone is interested. regards, Pete
