Interesting to see a well-known dealer in the South of England has reduced the prices of a couple of his 'extremely desirable' and 'exceptional' cars. OK, some might have regarded them as over-priced in the first place, but still, one wonders whether the recession is really over.

Personally, I think there's another 'dip' to come yet.

i think he meant dick, either cameron or brown...well get one of em soon, like choosing between cat sh1te and dog sh1te....oh how pc I am.

BOT yea I think theyre just overpriced at Sov, and a lot of good choice in the used market, but note some of the better stuff has gone very recently; a good sign of a pick up.. as for second dip, no I doubt it, the whole world is coming out of recession, UK is the slowest to recover, but even here orders and output are picking up. Probably a cashflow issue prompting the reductions to liquidate a bit of stock, must have been a painful year for any specialist toy dealer.

Chris, I think that is the highly speced Booker motorsport one that GD made for them. I mentioned it to GD after seeing it at Top Gear show. Andy reeled off a list of all the extra high spec details and extras like PAS, Bells and whistles that were ordered on it. From what that cost to make, I believe that to be a good price.

I hope you are right about no second dip, but I am not sure I share your optimism.

I work for a major construction business and we have fared well so far, but every significant design practice in both architecture and civil/structural engineering has laid off, in some cases, considerable numbers of staff. If they are designing less now then in a couple of years there will be less construction and this is without any future public spending cuts. I fear we may be in for a second dip.

Except Greece of course ...

And as for:

Yea well only 11m population (put it into perspective London is 7.7m) out of a world 6.7 billion, there will always be exceptions, and I think Greece were late to feel it, so late recovery probable; still probably handy for most people on here (cheaper holidays)?

The GD will sell, not many MKIV's around for sale, and a factory build will (generally) draw punters that are wary of a private build (however good bad each are); not my taste at all, and I'd buy other cars for that money, but there are plenty of people who want GD's take on the Cobra scene, and when you drive a good one it's easy to see why. One mans meat etc.

Of course all desirable cobras are over priced when youre thinking of buying......;-)

Be lucky....

I know all to well about this, My father has been in construction employing between 10 and 15 people with more work than he could ever handle for the last 32 years. We faired the recession well but it seems it has died a death, contracts have been pulled and redundancies, shorter working weeks and pay cuts have been dished out, we/the construction industry is far from recovering, always the first hit and last to recover, just glad he has made his wedge and can afford to slow down a bit but for those that are in this industry my heart felt sympathy goes out to you. With increased legislations, price fixing and the recession its a hard place to be in.
