Hi Anthony, thanks.

think that might be too much though, its hard enough to stop the wheels spinning with the 3.54!

alternative is to rebuild mine.. anyone ever tried this?

Does anyone know what makes these diffs so weak, or not as strong as the older XJS diff.
cheers

He's had it up for sale for a year or so now. Cant find a buyer who will give him enough to cover the amount of stock he's got, some of which some is very old and rare apparentley. He's getting loads of hassle off the enviromental health people who want to class him as a scrap yard and make him lay concrete everywhere to stop contamination. Concrete being the greener option  go figure.

There is no reason why an XJ40 unit shouldn't be as strong as an older XJ unit - they are, except for the cast iron case, internally the same.

Hi Matey

Have you tried calling Dax? I picked up a fully refurbed diff from them for 275. They has it spare as a customer had cancelled an order. Might save you some leg work.

ah bloody brilliant, I actually have a friend picking an engine up in Portsmouth in a few days. Maybe I could persuade him to pick the diff up also.

thanks Dave, really appreciate it. Will check with him and give you a shout
