The following run will take place on Sunday 20th June. Anyone wishing to attend, please feel free.

Forest of Dean CRC Run - Sunday 20 June 2010
Chepstow to Beechenhurst Lodge via Tintern

Leave M48 second severn crossing junc. 2. 5.60 in free to get out no passport required.
r/bout 3rd exit towards Chepstow A466.
Larkfield r/bout 1st exit A48 (sign Caldicot).
1 mile rt turn into garden centre opposite Texaco garage.
Meet Chepstow Garden Centre, Pwllmeyric Chepstow Mon NP16 6LF.

Coffee/ Loo from 10.30am leave 11am
Leave garden centre turn left.
r/bout 1st exit A466 to Tintern.
(on right Chepstow racecourse/car boot).
Thru St Arvans village (peeing boy fountain).
(4 miles Eagles nest viewpoint as shown on TV. 365 steps to reach it).
6miles enter Tintern.
Tintern Abbey turn right into car park. Drive thru car park to view abbey.
Out of car park turn right through Tintern village and the Wye Valley.
(7 miles on right Abbey Mill complete with restored water wheel).
(on right Old Station now a exhibition centre,cafe & walks).
(8miles on right Brockweir Bridge with restored old roman harbour).
Thru Llandogo village
11 miles at traffic lights right turn over Brockweir Bridge (toll house).
14 miles thru Redbrook village (received EU funding for .... project on left Iron railway bridge crossing river Wye to a Pub!).
16 miles enter Monmouth (pass Lidl on right).
17 miles r/bout 3rd exit sign Forest of Dean.
18 miles turn right to The Kymin (brown sign) sharp steep turn, leave room to adjust!
T junction turn left
19 miles turn right into Good Neighbours Lane speed bump! - The Kymin.
Park up and enjoy the view.
Back the way you came and rejoin main 4136 right turn.
23 miles thru Staunton village.
Traffic lights turn right 4228 Coleford.
Traffic lights turn left 4028.
25 miles turn 2nd right towards Speech House 4226
(27 miles on left Freeminer open cast working mine)
28 miles (passing B4234 junction) drive up Speech House Road for 500m turn left
Beechenhurst Lodge & Sculpture Trail
Pass all car parks and follow exit signs with lodge on right hand side, take next car park on right. Car Parking is 3.50 sorry.

Beechenhurst has a Cafe, Gift Shop and Loos.
Cafe offers basic jacket pots, sandwiches soup etc. Indoor seating is limited.
We intend to take a picnic. Bbqs are available.
If after lunch you fancy a stroll, the sculpture trail is worth a visit. 7km takes 2-3 hours but there are two shortcuts available, free. Remember walking shoes and suntan cream.

Exit car park turn right 4028 Coleford.
31 miles turn left Chepstow 4228
Follow this road for 13 miles.

Remembering what weather you booked last time we ventured into the wilds of your small Principality, we will be sure to bring waterproofs, brollies and soft tops :)

Nice shots Paul. It didn't take long for me to start disappearing under the bonnet looking for trouble eh?
