Could anyone help with the following please.

I have had it confirmed that an HEI dizzy on the 350sbc does not require a ballast resistor, so on the spark plugs issue, are plugs with or without resistors in them required??? I may have wrong ones in.

I may be wrong but going back to my youth I seem to remember that the resistor/non resistor type was more to do with stopping electrical interference to surrounding T.V's and radio etc. I dont think it does anything to step down voltage etc at this point of the electrical circuit. May be worth a quick chat with your local Car Electrician. The main thing yo get right is temperature characteristics of the plug and this will depend upon state of tune, timing, the type of driving and your air/fuel ratio. Try the plugs you've got if I was right about the resistance and check after a short period of time to see how they are wearing and how they look.

cheers, I have got standard plugs from real steel although the engine is mildly modified and I now need Shortie plugs to solve header clearance problems, we'll have a look at the plugs later like you said.
