I have a Jag based kit (Unique Autocraft Python) with SB Chevy engine. Can any members advise what spring rates they use on the front and rear of their Jag based Cobras - mine are definitely too soft and I want to replace them over the winter.
Thanks
Hi,
With my SR the Spring rates are 450lb front (350SBC) and 200lbs each spring on rear but I have yet to road test and looks ok front but rear is touch high perhaps on lowest setting? Springs are on Spax dampers but are a few years old on the car so maybe any settling has happened, not much weight in rear yet however.

Talk to Simon at Dax,He's a mine of information and he may just know what you need. good luck;-)
I have a pair of 375lb front springs (new) for Spax adjustable dampers if any good.

Nigel B - if it helps these are the spring rates on my Crendon. I dropped the front spring rate by 50lbs/inch from the originals to stop the front "nodding". I do realise that there are as many schools of thought about spring rates as there are belly buttons, but if my info helps, all to the good. Crendon weighs 1048Kg, full tank, me in it ( I weigh 100Kgs, fat Bas**rd that I am) Distribution is 48% front, 52% rear. Engine is FSB, ally heads.
Car is comfortable on the road, can adjust shockers (AVO's) to make ride hard or soft.
front - 300lbs/inch 9" long 2 1/4 dia springs
rear - 275lbs/inch (each) 101/2" long ditto
