I am going to pay Dax a visit next week, thinking of de Dion chassis and 355BHP :D Chevy with 5 speed manual box, and they suggest aluminium for lining the engine bay but I think this will be a challenge to keep clean over time amd Stainless would be better (but heavier). I will also be looking at the powder coating issue. Does anybody have any comments on the above?
Additionally, is there a cobra meet at Huddersfield this Sunday, subject to weather?

I have mirror finished stainless just because I like shiny things. :-)

I made mine myself from a single 8' x 4' sheet of mirror polished 0.8mm thick stainless. It wasn't easy and it took a long time but worth it I think. Have a chat with Dave Brookes though of DB replicas as he may be able to help you out with templates or possibly supplying them ready made, not sure though.

Great choice of car by the way, You won't regret it. :-)

I had a nosey inside the engine bay of the demonstrator before I bought my linings and it was pretty tarnished. Not being the polishing type I had mine powder coated silver and it worked a treat, if a bit expensive when you add up Dax's price and then the powder coating.

The other option is to talk to Dave Brookes (Dave on here). I seem to recall from a previous thread that he has stainless ones made to sell and they are cheaper than Dax as well.

Before you settle on anything Dax related - even your engine/gearbox package - talk to DB.....
