Hi All, We just had our Febuary meeting again starting at Goodwood race cicuit and convoying of to the Barly Mow for for lunch, and a skittles to follow, as usual I have reproduced our news letter below.

Summer BBQ - Sunday, 24th June, 2012 (June Meet)

As you know, we are having a Summer Cobra Club Summer BBQ in the New Forest on Sunday, 24th June, 2012. We are holding this at the Anderwood Picnic site near Lyndhurst and Burley. As time will gallop along, could I please ask you to let me know as soon as possible if you are likely to be joining us. Can you just send me an e-mail to confirm. Thank you.

This BBQ will be open for Club Members only until we have confirmed numbers (max of 80). We have paid to hire the site out of our Christmas Raffle, but we will be charging £5.00 per adult and £2.50 per child which will cover food, BBQ coals, plates etc. We will also be asking some of you to volunteer to bring along a dish of your choice eg potato salad, trifle etc. If you are coming along, I will send you details of this by return.

Drive it Day

Frank Kay is again organising the 'Drive it Day' which this year falls on Sunday 22 April and on behalf of the Alvis Owner Club, he is extending invitations to the Cobra Replica Club, VSCC & local enthusiasts.

The format is now 'tried & tested' as follows :-

Start Crown Inn, Dial Post.....with entrants arriving from 09:00hrs for 'Bacon Butties' , coffee & sign on.

First car will depart approx 10:30 hrs......last away about 11:00 hrs.

The Run Approx 55 miles through the Sussex Weald & South Downs National Park.

Finish The Fountain Inn, Ashurst.....first car due to arrive about 12:00 hrs.....for lunch & refreshment.

For info Approx 45 cars took part in the run last year, augmented by a static display at the Fountain

.....so total cars on display at the Fountain was about 100.

All last years entrants will be individually E.mailed. P.S THIS MAY BE CLOSED NOW?.

Cranleigh Lions Classic Car Show - 19th August, 2012

The 2012 Cranleigh Lions Classic Car Show & Autojumble is on Sunday 19th August 2012, from 9am to 4.30pm at the Cranleigh Showground.
Registered classic vehicles are admitted free of charge including the driver and one passenger. Additional passenger 16 and over are £6 each.
Entrance to the show is £6, with under 16s free. A programme containing vehicles on display and registered before 19th July costs just £3.
The show is one of the largest one day classic car shows in the south-east of England and attracts 1,700 vehicles of all shapes and sizes, from concours winning to those needing a little TLC. The classic car show is run by the Cranleigh Lions to raise money for local organisations and needy people and in 2011 raised over £20,000.
Online Registration is Open
Online registration for the 2012 classic car show is now open for vehicles 20 years old or older. Your registration is confirmed straight away with a link to print your ticket.
In previous years registration has closed in early August as there is a limit on the number of vehicles we can display in the Cranleigh Showground, so register early to avoid disappointment.
