If they are anything like the Aldi whisky that a mate of mine once bought and forced me to drink I would avoid. I could still taste the stuff 7 days later.......He thought he'd died and gone to heaven when I served him some redbreast to demonstrate what whisky should actually taste like. Needless to say the Macallan stayed in the cupboard, he would have never left, lol

Don't think you should be eating (or drinking) a battery charger W ;-)

Got one last time they were in. Works well. Picked one up for a mate tonight.
C-Tek ones sound very good but think this will do for a while.

Slightly strange you appearing on a thread where Whiskey was mentioned John ;-)

Couldn't find one in Aldi, but next stop Lidl and there were loads of 'em so I bought one. It's called Ultimate Speed (really) and charges either 6v or 12v and can do either small bike batteries or big car or leisure batteries. So far I like it a lot, as it's coaxed some life out of a 10 year old 75AH leisure battery. Using my 20 yr old Halfords trickle charger that battery wouldn't achieve more than about 12.2v because a couple of cells were low on specific gravity (ie. sulphated). But the new charger left the battery with 12.75v so I think it must have desulphated it some. The Ultimate Speed charger's leaflet doesn't say anything about leaving the thing connected long term, but I've seen an Optimate charger boil a small bike battery dry over the winter so I never fit and forget a charger. During lay-up I prefer to charge my batteries once every 3-4 weeks. Many thanks to Purple AK for the 'heads up'.
