Good Evening Gents

I haven't been around much and last year was a busy year. Hoping to get out in the cobra a bit more this year for a few runs and a few shows. Has anyone any plans for any?

I got an entry through for the East Kilbride show at the National Museum so will be entering again this year. Its on the 5th May The organisers details are the same as last year but if anyone needs them drop me a pm.

Last year was the first time I had attended and it was a good show, even better they throw in a voucher for lunch!

Thats not good news, I only got round to sending my entry in on Friday so if you have already had a reply I don't suppose I stand much of a chance!

I better get organised for the others I was thinking on doing

We should really have a list of events with contact details and dates. I think it also helps if we entry under the club, so the orginiser can give us a spot for all cobras. Rather than individuel entrys with cobras spread all over the show. Just an idea.

Yes agree. I need to get in touch with Ed. He sent a few emails last year regarding days but unfortunately I could make any. I know he and and the regular attendees aren't big on the shows though.

I got a response from Marion saying she has allocated me a spot in the 'picnic field'. I have taken it but next time i'm passing I will try to go for a pitch inspection to see there won't be any clearance issue. From memory last year the grass area was fairly accessible.

There is another show in Bridge of Allan on the 19th May run by Stirling Classic Car club, again not too big a show. i missed it last year but have done it for a few before that.

This site isn't bad and lists a lot of the shows

Search Car Shows by County Classic Motor Shows in the UK | Veteran Motor Shows | Heritage Motor Shows UK (http://classicshowsuk.co.uk/searchevents/events_searchbycounty.asp)

Let me know your thoughts, maybe we can drum up some interest for one of the shows

My other half is doing the Moon Walk or more precisely 'Over the Moon' (two laps of the marathon distance charity walk) in Edinburgh on the Saturday night so I will be doing my bit picking her up on the Sunday.

James

Let me know about the Irvine one if you find out a date

Hi guys - I never put in for a spot at the EK show this year because I'm not sure if I'll have the car or not and didn't want to take a space. Might always wander along for a look around right enough.

Andy

Hi Andy - yeah I am home now. Arrived back a few weeks before Christmas so, same as when I bought the car, it's not the best time of year for a Cobra! I reckon by March / April I will put her up for sale properly - I would definitely buy another one, but not having a garage takes a lot of the fun out of it as I need to travel to a rented garage to see it rather than just nipping outside to give her a polish for half an hour.

So new plan is buy a house with a garage and return to the Cobra in a couple of years!

I might pop along on the day, albeit without the cobra as I don't have a space, but not sure yet. I have put her up for sale so might even drive along and leave her in the carpark with a 'for sale' sign attached, but that will no doubt lead to people climbing in and out the car if I'm not there to watch it!
If I don't see you, have a good day!

Looks as though I wont be on the road this year especially if this cr@p weather keeps up. Building a new house for my Cobra and once built I might finally get around to doing the paint job before everything goes back into the garage.
Got my new exhausts to fit this year also. Finish of all those little jobs that I was going to get back to.
John.

Well not a bad show with a good turnout.

Yes made it out. Luckily I found an outside tap and a bucket for Charlie too! I had the half cover for the car in the boot as well which I managed to wrap him in to get home
