I struggled to find an IDF pattern intake manifold for myt Chevy 383, eventually found one by Inglese, but eye wateringly expensive!

Inglese: Intake Manifold, IDF (http://www.compperformancegroupstores.com/store/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=IN&Product_Code=NG1700&Category_Code=ChevyManifolds)

The picture is generic, they sit much lower than that. Let me know if you find anything different!

US Ebay bought this up http://www.ebay.com/itm/SBC-CHEVY-SMALL-BLOCK-INTAKE-MANIFOLD-FOR-IDF-CARB-WEBER-/180837227457 even with shipping it should come in fairly cheap.

Why IDF, I'm sure mines IDA.

Just because you have IDA doesn't mean everyone has! Mine are definitely IDF :-P

Well Weber have made some very nice downdraft carbs, but you wont find a Weber specialist reccomending IDA over IDF!
IDA carburetors are a small market for Weber. They were designed as a simpler racing carburetor for a motor that is either accelerating at WOT or braking.
IDF's are used in more applications than the IDAs; like the DCOE, the IDF is the default twin throat performance carburetor. IDA is a very small market for Weber, in fact the main market for IDA is small block Chevrolet, and some VW Beetle applications.
IDF has been oe in a few special production vehicles, including Ford Escort RS2000 Group 1 cars and is a good upgrade replacement for various carburetors. IDF Webers are offered in 40, 44 and 48 mm bore sizes, and the main, idle, air correction and accelerator pump jets, the emulsion tubes and venturis, are all interchangeable. It has a float design that makes it very popular for off-road applications, a vacuum advance port, and four progression holes for smooth light-accelerator response. The main difference between the IDA and the IDF, is the additional transfer circuit, but it adds up to make a big difference in performance. Ford selected the IDF because if its more progressive nature, and more stable float design.
Agreed Chris ebay find looks just the job!!

Doh I stand corrected, my manifold is IDF, I've forgotten when I bought my cylinder heads it came with an IDA manifold which is unused in my garage. Lol

Thanks, I have seen this one, I noticed in the picture I couldn't see all the bolt holes which seemed odd unless some of them are inside the runners. I have emailed them asking for more detailed pictures.

I have also emailed carbs unlimited to see what they can supply.

Inglese are rather expensive at $600+ for the manifold alone but I would be ok paying that if the others are poor quality.

I also had an email conversation with Jim Inglese as he is supplying stuff again as an idependent but he is even more expensive!

On the Inglese and, I assume, the ebay one there are only 3 holes per side, this is because to optimise runner position some holes are covered. Mine is like that and seals no problem :-)

one thing worth mentioning, whatever manifold you buy, you may have to have it machined if your heads or block are not stock heights; so you need to budget for tha, plus, if you buy the Ebay mainifold, a second look at it reveals its ProComp (chinese), some of their stuff does need 'putting right' so budget a little extra for that.
