Where are you guys joining the M40??
There's a plan hatching for the Southern Group to nip over from M40 on A43 to M1/A43 services for 0900hrs to then join up with the Northern group at the Green Man for 1000hrs before all going on the Stoneleigh - Interested??

Joining at J6, tho not too sure about an early morning start, I'm allergic to anything before 10 usually. I come up with a horrible rash that means I have to go back to bed! ;-) Weather permitting how about oxford services at some point?

Probably going up from Reading on Sunday, pick up the A34 at Harwell and then off at the Pear Tree roundabout and follow the A423 to Banbury then A425, 44555 across country.

Done it for a few years this way, all empty-ish A roads thru the country side and avoids that boring M40, also leaving early there is little traffic and much more enjoyable, the roads twist and turn like a twisty turny thing

Hi Guy's,

Are there any plans for a convoy on Sunday to Stoneleigh, if so from where at what time are you meeting up.

Regards

Rich

There seems to be a large convoy from M1 J15A, 9am ish I think... Is it possible cut up from M40 to join them?

Leaving Reading about 7am, avoiding the Prius drivers and OAP's in Honda Civics, plan to go up A34 to Pear Tree rbout and then up to Banbury and across country to Stoneleigh.

Done it a few years ago and some nice driving roads you can hang in 3rd gear, cant stand the boring old M40, car wasn't made for straight lines.

Check it out on Google maps and click " avoiding motorways" or whatever it says like that

On the TomTom mobile app, there is a setting under fastest... Shortest...etc.. Called "Winding Roads"!
3 levels to choose.
May try that on the way home.

Good man, we didn't build them to drive in a 30mph convoy ;-)

No, but I fancy the idea of the M1 convoy. Never been in one so it's a must for me, so will blast up there and then fighter pilot home after!
