When pulling out of a bumpy junction, I've noticed the rear-end sways/rocks/waddles side-to-side a little, then settles more or less immediately
After seeing another Hawk, I notice I do not have fitted Anti-tramp Bars & Panhard Rod for the MGB rear axle
Is this a likely reason?
Can anyone tell me where else other than Hawk, I can order what is necessary for me to fit these - I fancy trying
I've called Hawk cars - they do an "Anti-tramp Bars & Panhard Rod (MGB rear axle) Std Kit" for £275 + VAT does that sound a reasonable price?
Apparently a lug needs to be welded to each plate at the bottom of the leaf springs and he will need the plates to do this or exchange them for ones he may have.
Does that make sense to anyone?
Does anyone have any photos of this 'lug'
I tried to take some photos of the other Hawk car, but they did not come out!

Like I said, I'd like to 'have-a-go' myself
How difficult would this be to do? I'll get the ride height lowered at the same time.
Obviously I'd need to remove this 'plate' and get someone else, such as Hawk, to weld on these 'lugs'
or just hand the car over to Hawk and get them to do it all.

Hello Alan,
its up to you if you do it yourself or not. Not beyond the will of man, but at least you know the kit fits.
Have enclosed some pics.

Yes the axle clamp is part of the kit and yes. those are the two lugs.
I bent a step in the panhard rod as it was rubbing on the diff cover and made an annoying rattle when driving. I could have done it with spacers but it wouldn't have been as clean on the rise and fall. I'm happy with it now.

Ordered the Anti-Tramp Bars and Panhard Rod kit from Hawk beginning of November
Gerry tells me they are still waiting for them to be made as there is a back-log. http://www.the289register.com/phpBB3/images/smilies/icon_sad.gif
Just as well it's too cold to work on the car at the moment anyway!

After 8 months, I got half of the Anti-tramp bar and Panhard Rod kit from hawk Cars!
The Panhard Rod is now fitted and I got Poly Bushes fitted as well - has improved the handling.
Just hope the Anti-Tramp Bars don't take another 8 months!!:evil:

Here's the Panhard rod fitted - and it does make a difference in the car's handling. http://www.the289register.com/phpBB3/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif
Also had poly bushes installed.

Not much clearance with the diff - although after testing, it seems enough

Still waiting for the other half of the kit - Anti-Tramp Bars! http://www.the289register.com/phpBB3/images/smilies/icon_mad.gif
