There is a very small car show on In Blaenau Ffestiniog and whilst the show will not be much the driving to get here and back is fantastic - real driving roads through mountain passes and lakes gallore.......and very little speed cameras πŸ™ˆπŸ™‰πŸ™ŠπŸ΅!

let me know if anyones interested.

A bunch of Cobs from the SW are invading Wales again this year from the 14th April for 4 days. Staying in a castle somewhere and the Metropole

There's a Mercedes joining them aswell. I still can't believe that with 8 cobras in the garage I'm driving a bloody slk on the Welsh cobra run.

When you guys down and which parts are you touring? Getting fellow owners in this part of the woods is rare and it would be nice to meet up - may even be able to show you some hidden driving roads etc.

Cobras are either undergoing works or not registered yet. It's my summer stock. If I use the Daytona il have divorce proceedings by the time we get off of the drive.

So it's Sam's slk which needs a good run anyway having been parked up over winter. Not only that Sam can have a drive aswell. Either way I'm looking forward to a weekend off and some socialising with good friends.

Did a lot of work in Glandyfi overseeing the masonry works on the new retaining wall - that thing is high and if you haven't seen the realigned section of trunk road and that wall yet you will know it when you see it!

Sounds good and all being well I would definetly be interested to meet up - can you keep me in the loop please?

Appreciated wondering these lands alone is no fun - I am sure snakes are an endangered speices round here!

I have only got (one built in 1991, and not by me) and I am struggling to get that back on the road ! Oh well engine done, wiring problems 50%, calipers out to be reconditioned and radiator out but not sure to buy a new alloy one from Dax or get the steel one totally reconditioned - any advice?

Appreciated

Surely that depends upon budget ? I would personally go for the DAX supplied new alloy one - will not need any modifications and is new so presumably under some warranty ?
But I see the cost of that is likely a lot higher - a recon steel one is likely also ok - but is still not a new one !

Dax alloy is about Β£300 and I need to seek prices for a reconditioned unit but to be fair it needs quite a bit of work! Anyone any experience of refurb costs?

like you say a new one would be exactly that so may be best ?

Hi AKCharlie, I'm also from the north wales area, and i have a caravan outside Caernarfon, I've put my Cobra build on hold as I'm concentrating on finishing my Haynes roadster that i started first and it will be quicker to get through IVA and then drop back onto the Cobra build.
If you have no objections I would very much like to be kept in the loop for your trip and I will try to plan a visit to the Caravan and then come the little bit further to Cricieth to meet up with you guys.
My Cobra is a lesser known one from the 1980's that has never been completed, infact when I got it, the body hadn't been cut for the lights.
In the meantime i'm off to the states on Friday for two weeks and hope to keep a look out for some nice muscle/custom cars to get some photos of.

kind regards

Arfon (the Arf)

Hi All,

Thank you for the great company this weekend, it was a pleasure to meet you all and enjoy some great driving in the Cobra's, even in typical British summer wet weather conditions!

Hope you all got home safely last night.

Cheers,

Hats off to all who attended the Wales Tour! It was brilliant. Ok, the weather could have been a lot better on the Saturday but the Sunday made up for it. Superb driving and scenery.

My special thanks to Andy and Jennie who put the route together. Sat Navs not required! Directions were superb and detailed spot on! It was a tremendous effort on both of you to pull this together. All appreciated the hard work.

A really good weekend with fellow Cobra Owners and friends from the North and South - great effort Guys! Makes it all worthwhile!

Cheers
