hi guy I'm going to look at this car http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1974-AC-Cobra-/271946913680?hash=item3f514c9790:g:vRQAAOSwT6pVk~R 2

its my first one i have looked at what do you guys think? and how about price it was built 25 years ago is this good or bad?

they say its in very good condition but a few bits of body work could do with being tided up? all jag running gear

they say the guy as had it over 20 years and now struggles to get in and out due to old age hence its now up for sale so they are selling it on his behalf ?

any advise would be great? please be brutally honest

many thanks ben (I'm looking at this one as i would like to spend around that figure? ) I'm happy to look at others if anyone knows of anything good out there for that sort of money?

As already said. One to avoid.incorectly registered. Auto & a V12. It's cheap for those reasons.

A Ram however, correctly registered with a yank V8 is a very desirable replica.

If the vehicles V5 does not state it is a Ram Cobra or equivalent, but has the donar cars make and model it is incorrectly registered. You might find you get turned away from MOT centres and if the police see it they can if they wish have it crushed. You cannot really change a V5 now so just walk away. The original owners local garage might have turned s blind eye but you don't want to end up buying a lemon.

It isn't an AC, your first or anything else. It is what it is but it's not an AC and never will be

You must see the V5 registration document. If it's registered as a Jag you MUST walk away as others have said before. Also worth thinking about the engine. A Jag V12 is a very heavy but lovely silky smooth engine. It's will be a lot of money to fix if it goes wrong. A rover V8 is a simpler option to fix, or an American V8.
You may also believe after you've heard a few that a V8 is a better sounding car than a V12. More suited to a cob in other words.

Have a look at this one;

Nothing to do with me and a little bit more cash, but it's a manual and a v8, obviously you would need to check how it's been registered.

That Sumo used to live in Norwich with the original builder.
I seem to remember he sold it to help pay for his kids wedding / house deposit etc.

TVR badge ! Readily available on eBay as are the rocker covers. Had them on my MGB V8, not the TVR badge.
