Does a dash need to be padded for Iva compliance?

Not padded just all edges etc need a radius dial bezels etc and the bottom edge needs to be rounded

IIRC if made of "hard" material (unpadded) then it needs a 15mm radius on the bottom edge, which is quite significant. If padded it only needs an 8mm (or was it 6mm?) radius.. which is why my IVA-flat-dash will be padded to some degree, wrapped around the bottom edge of radiused 6mm ply.

BLAST.

Will now need to check mine for that 15mm radius.
I did make all the edges rounded with my mould.

Fitted the warning cluster in the cubby hole pointed towards the driver.
Never liked all those individual warning lights scattered around the dash.

Lucas switches were recessed and lettered below the gauges

I like symettry

Whoops I had my numbers wrong:

When the lower edge of the instrument panel is in the ‘specified zone’ it needs to be either:

‘radiused’ to a minimum of 19 mm
‘radiused’ to 5mm if covered with a non rigid material
