can anyone confirm that I am going to plumb up my engine correctly.

Starting from the front...

From the water pump to the bottom of the radiator.
Top of radiator to expansion tank to front of manifold thermostat housing (big opening)
The little take off from the thermostat housing to the side of the water pump.

I also plan to plumb in a heater at a later stage (after I get my body) so I thought that the back of the manifold goes to the small take off on the top of the water pump? This will be temporary just while I get my engine up and cooking...

any help much appriciated

cheers

You have it right.
"The little take off from the thermostat housing to the side of the water pump."I assume you mean the one on the back of the pump. You end up with a short awkward bit of hose. You could just blank the rear of the manifold and the outlet on the top of the pump for now.Thats how my mates Pop is plumbed without a heater and he dont have problems.
