Hello everyone,

I live just outside Chester and completed the build of my Pilgrim Sumo earlier this year. My Sumo had a 1.6l pinto in it, but I have now almost finished replacing it with a Rover V8 (just waiting for some exhaust manifolds).

Thanks for a great forum:thumb: :thumb:.

Good Man!

Why someone would have put a lawnmower engine in it is beyond me

Hope you've considered improved stopping power to go with the improved going power!

I had thought about improving stopping power, but at this stage that is all it was a thought. Is there something simple I can do to improve the sierra breaks without resorting to a parachute and and anchor?

I guess you can use the sierra Cosworth / XR4i / XR4x4 stuff. Must be better than a standard 1.6l setup and may even fit your existing hubs.

Just as a note on brakes, I used 278mm vented disks and they just fit with a 15 inch wheel, the balance weights almost touch the calliper, dont go too big :thumb: Ford by the way.
