Seeing as how its bottle green already, why not metallic BRG ?

If you go for a completely different colour, you'll have to spray every nook and cranny to stop it looking odd.

Thanks Kev, slilver blue stripes look good, looks less boy racer than the white jobs, sorry to any white stripers out there.

I notice you have double bars in the mouth, dont think I have seen those before either, another idea.

Thing is you have one of those cars that look good no mater what, I have a wonky ford based job that needs gods help :D

Mr Monkey, if I went green it would have to be a dark shade, what puts me off the colour at the moment is it look pale in sunlight, I do like green.

Perhaps I should only go out in the dark.

Hi Gary thanks for the compliment.

Those bars are just made from good old 15mm chromed tube from B&Q. :thumb:

Stuck in place with a dab of Wurth adhesive.

I don't have them on anymore, I've fitted an ally mesh now to protect the radiator a bit.

Incidentally, discovered my dizzy clamp was less than finger tight today - could be the answer YES/NO?

PS Call that an air filter?!

Bowtie and Rodders, That green does look good, show off the chrome a treat, but looking through the pic gallery I came across these two, look mean :thumb:

That air filter is used to keep the revs down when running the engine in, theres no way I could go above 4000rpm :p

Ok I give up, whats the dizzy clamp got to do with your squeaky rear end

They'll almost certainly be Kirkham with an unpainted ally body. :thumb:

Well, you could always have the body electro formed ("Hello? Yes, can you tell me how big your electroforming bath is, I'd like an entire car plated..." :p)

No but seriously, I reckon about 40 rolls of self adhesive aluminium tape should do it :D

gwak76
03-09-04, 10:43 AM
Ok, so cheap option is not to buy the kirkham, cover my car with tinfoil and hope no one notices  or pop it in an acid bath

Any suggestions on those big Goodyears, I like them to.

Hows your rear end and knock doing :D

Genius!!! Tin foil, better coverage, less joins. Like it! :D (obviously use the matt side though, eh? 'Tarts Handbag' an all that!)

Gary

The ONLY colour to have a Cobra in, is blue with white stripes and sidepipes (watch for the reaction !!!)

However, on another note, your photo of your engine bay seems to show the clutch cable being bent very severely. I would suggest you look at smoothing out the cable run otherwise you will find a) The cable may not last very long and, or, b) It may be very heavy in use.

Just a suggestion based on my own experience.

Spooky, I just measured up for a longer cable, the short one was an off the shelf job to get things running. Its not so much as a clutch but a bear trap.

Thanks for pointing it out though :thumb:

Sure you dont like silver :D

By the way my AK will finally be painted Silver (when I get bored of black). I am planning to paint it in the same silver as the VW Golf IV ("around 2k"). Think about it the next time you spot one, it's such a lovely silver colour...
