Dax sidepipe dismantling Pt2

7. Extract the baffle tube complete with fibreglass wadding. Be prepared to start itching.


8. This is the front of the new cone I made for the 3" pipe.


9. This is the rear of the cone on the front end of the baffle. You can see another M5 nut welded in place here.


Polish everything in sight to within an inch of it's life. Don't skip this stage, It's essential!

10. re-insert the baffle into the side pipe and locate nut on front of baffle with hole in tube. Tighten a nice new real stainless screw in place.


11. Insert tail pipe into outer tube. Stick finger in pipe to guide baffle tube into place if needed.


12. Once tail pipe is in place line up screw holes again and tighten screw.


13. Re-fit rubber mount and tighten nuts.


I should be writing haynes manuals for a living!
