Found this definition on a US site, somehow I felt a certain resonance:

Political Correctness

Political Correctness is a doctrine fostered by a
delusional, illogical liberal minority, and rabidly
promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media,
which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely
possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

Having tried hard to understand and even tolerate overtly PC people who occasionally try to interfere in my everyday life, I have given up, and now just tell them to 'feck off' as soon as I realise that they are of that genre; it seems to get the message across so much quicker than any reasoned arguement.

The trouble with Political Correctness is that the evil therein is shielded from the view of stupid people by a thin layer of sweet reason.
