Unhappy speed governor

Hi Guys I have just taken delivery of my new ford connect van from work and to my disappointment they have fitted a speed governor. So what was a very slow van, is now an even slower van. Can any one tell me how I can get rid of the limiter?? I now have trouble overtaking the old guy on his penny farthing
Pls help Russ

Your employer will have fitted this under the legislation that came into effect on 6th April relating to Duty of Care and Health and Safety at work. Your van is now part of your workplace, it's why you can't smoke in it. If you remove or disable the device you will be contravening the HSE guidelines of 6th April. Your employer would become directly liable for any accident that the occurred, fault or otherwise, they would also be uninsured, you would be cited as removing the device and then fired for gross misconduct.

Go slowly, don't remove it.

Go slow mate! It is their time you are driving in. We are tracked, engine start and stopped time logged, speed monitored, driving style monitored i.e. harsh braking and accelerating, GPS and GPRS monitored on our phones and to top it all of, we have to take a picture at the start and finish of any job/work we carry out. We are also questioned about routes taken and fuel consumption is calculated and cross referenced against our fuel receipts.

......and there is much more!!

Thanks for the advice looks like its going to take twice as long to get to work now So that would also explain why they have put us top notch ford i.c.e in the van, cos we is going to have more time to listen to CD'S and Radio 2, roll on Steve Wright, might even get to hear all of the Chris Evans show as well. Oh what joy

Cheers Russ
