Having just come back this morning from Poland, with a trip to Auswitz-Birkinau squeezed in, I could never bring myself to vote BNP; but the protest voters who are voting BNP (in the fairly certain knowledge that they are unlikely to get in in any kind of majority) are giving the 'normal' political parties a wake up call.

Its only a dream, but what Id like to see is politics, is:

1-A ban on the party system so that people vote for their local representative not a distant figure head in a party.
2-A ban on the party whip so your local MP can actually vote as he/she believes and not as the party wants them.
3-Proportional representation so you dont get a situation where a sitting government has manipulated the geography of the wards, received less than 50% of the votes, yet still got elected (as lbour did the last 2 elections).
4-Party political broadcasts being removed from the current exemption from the adverstising standards laws so we can prosecute them when they misrepresent the facts.
5-Gordon Brown deported for ruining all our pensions in 1997.

Also VERY glad that a certain Mr Livingstone has now been removed from office, what an arse wipe he is and lets just hope that Boris doesnt carry on with the congestion charge plans, the ones that take it out to the M25 with 3 zones so if you want to get to central london by car you would have to pay for all 3 zones !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and yes thats a fact I have seen the evidence from a major utility repair company in the southeast when they were applying for exemption to the existing charge, and the ANPR cameras have already been installed about a mile inside the M25 albeit at the moment for the green issue for lorry's that dont comply, then its vans in July, and who knows when for cars, and if that comes through then there are a few Cob ownwers inside the M25 who wont be able to take them out of the garage...............

can this be taken off the front page of the site?
I dont think its really a cobra item, and it isnt a good advert for the club either.

[Before being shouted down, No I didnt vote, and no I didnt vote labour]

Well its in the cockpit so anything goes there; but Im intrigued why you think its not a good advert; not a criticism as such, just genuinely intrigued...

Guys, I wasnt saying take it down - its a bit of fun, and as steve said, in the cockpit where all's fair game.

My point was: were I a casual browser, and more petrolhead than politician, and the first thing I saw on the cobraclub front page was a poll on party politics, Boris vs Ken and a bit of Scot slapping, I'd move on to another site fairly quickly. That was it really. Anyway, the LPG poll has superceded it, so who cares?

hmm I doubt it, look at pistonheads; loads of politics on there and its one of the worlds most popular vehicle websites...politics is part of life, you name it politics is involved, so why not??
Look at the LPG thread; why is it even a subject? Because politicians/politics have made LPG artificially cheap in comparison to petrol/diesel, and one day soon the politicians will ramp the tax up when enough people convert to LPG...

This thread will only stay on the front page if people keep posting replies to it.
