silverstone gp

went to silverstone for the grand prix this weekend, first time at a f1 race meeting was quite impressed by the whole thing but after getting up at 0500hrs sat to get there and watching the day's racing and qualifying, going for a meal in the evening, going back to the carpark to sleep in the car at the track. Then getting up at 0400hrs sunday to queue for gates to be opened at 0500hrs and dashing to club corner to plant our chairs in the gravel bank, ready for the grand prix in 8hrs time. To see the British drivers fail to win and to see the heaviest car in pole position win with ease, spent a fortune, drove home knackered, great fun!!
Best part of the day for me was the historic car race which included 3 AC cobras, what a great sound these cars made along with all the others oldies, apart from watching these i think i will continue to watch it on the tv.(unless next time i can afford a ticket for a seat plus B&B so i don't have to get up so bloody early)

Just think. You can do it all again in July. All the good stuff without the boring F1 procession.
