up the prostate

it all started with me getting up about 4 or 5 times a night to go to toilet, went to the doctors expecting a magic pill to make it stop, but received a digital exam up the rear instead, complete with blood test. before i knew it i attended hospital because the prostate was suspicious and the psa blood test was high. A further visit for biopsy's confirmed prostate cancer, have had a rebore of my plumbing since so my bladder empties better, i now don't get up at night so much.
What i'm trying to say is, if you are around 50years old get yours checked out regardless of not having any symptoms before you get to my stage.
I'm now taking female hormone tablets and can't stop hoovering, dusting, washing up and ironing. And i'm awaiting external beam therapy in the new year. hopefully not on sunny day's when i could be out in the car now that would be a pain in the arse!!!

Blimey, good advice...but whats a digital exam? I thought it was the docs finger to check for this (why I decided not to go to medical school ), the thought of this is probably what stops people getting it checked, if its some small, smooth digital gadget perhaps people will be less scared of asking for a check.
best of luck with it.

It seems all the SW folks get checked 4 times a year.

Good luck with the recovery cd.

You couldn't be more right there Clive, the things you have to endure if you get Cancer treatment makes a finger the least of your worries.

Andi.

Wink

extremely common in men 50+.
very treatable with good likelihood of full recovery etc if treated early.

Guys: dont piss your pants coz your too much of a man to go to your GP, as you'll be truly sorry later.

Good luck with it, mate. G/Fs father had it last year, he's fine now, caught nice and early.

Glad to hear that you feel well now, but I heard that after surgery some guys had erection problems.
