    Replacement Cobra

After what seems like 'for ever' I have finally sold my truck and the Mustang. The truck was no longer needed as I am physically no longer able to build another Kit so don't need a tow vehicle (it was however great in the snow) and the Mustang has gone because I never really found it that exciting - maybe I should have gone the supercharger!

Once sold the problem was budget, how much do you spend in these times of corrupt finance systems - sorry another thread probably. The sensible thing would be to follow Craggle and get an uber modern mobile match box, but then again I'm not really in need of a simple means of commuting

Jason Plato calls it the modern day AC Cobra but sadly I couldn't find a decent roadster. So after seeing five candidates, all of which passed the Hmmm test with the right foot but all failing the various security tests prior to purchase I found a coupe just one mile away in Pembury.

In classic UK Cobra club tradition I spent all day yesterday with several bottles of Autoglym and then finally took it out for a spin on the A21 at around 21:30. I was a little disappointed to see an Evo disappear in front of me but then I wasn't about to unleash the engine on my first real run. It was only later I remembered the M button

More pictures here but at the time of writing Picasa is having some issues.

I hope everyone here is doing well and that the weather improves some time this summer.

    Morning Andi, nice choice mate,

Kath and I looked at the Z4 when she was looking for a new car a couple of years back (although a more plain Jane variety enginewise) but she insisted on an SLK instead... shame as I thought the Z4 was streets ahead... really nice looking design and great interior.

    Nice Andi

I notice you have Conti Sport tyres fitted, don't know if you realize that they do those in "Conti Seal" which automatically seals its self if you get a puncture, I know from experience as I have just driven 1300 miles back from Greece with a nail in one of mine and it's still held pressure. The only problem with them is that you cannot get them repaired if you remove the offending item, as they are lined inside the tyre with a black sticky solution.

Continental told me that they can be repaired when I had my last puncture, but I couldn't find anyone who would risk repairing it safely.

Might be worth checking the wall and see if they have the "conti seal" logo on them, just so you will be prepared if you do get a puncture.

I've had to replace 2 good tyres for the same reason, I replaced them with the standard Conti Sport without the "conti seal" gunge inside.

I've often been asked, "What do you old folks do now that you're retired?
Well, I'm fortunate to have a chemical engineering background, one of the things I enjoy most is turning beer, wine, Scotch and margaritas into urine.

    Life's good, live it.

I think it's just missing a DAB radio and a supercharger.

Mike, thanks, I can't see a conti seal label.

    Hi Andi,
Great choice. I looked at these myself but sadly could not convince my Mrs that she should have the larger family car allowing me to have such a daily driver.
    Enjoy!
