    Rent free welding gas?

    Hi All

After about 10 years of paying BOC a yearly fee to have their gas cylinders in the garage I have today returned both of them to a dealer and closed the account. Call me stingy but £180 just to rent the cylinders for one year was too much this time.

Anyway, Has anyone had good or bad experiences with any of the rent free gas cylinder companies? I've had a search and found Adams gas and Hobbyweld but has anyone got any experiences with them or any other companies come to that?

I need a Co2/Argon mix for my Mig welder and a pure Argon for the Tig welder.

    Cheers

    Craig.

Dax Tojeiro, + 355 Chevy + Tremec box = In storage and possibly for sale, make an offer...
DB Hardtop still in the garage.
Polishes to date = On hold.

    Morning Craig,

I needed a bottle recently, and like you I don't like paying a rent.

Argon 5% CO2 Welding Gas Bottle Full | eBay

I used this guy, no rent, collared bottles so they can be refilled. He'd run out of a certain bottle that I wanted but comms was great and he gave me a knockdown price on a different option. Cylinder turned up by courier next day. Packaging was a bit battered but bottle was fine.

I use Adams and the service I've had from them has been spot on - I've got Argon and Oxygen from them. Sadly you can't get rent free acetylene yet I don't think unless it has changed recently.

I got two bottles of each for the relatively small deposit cost as its usually at least a couple of days to get the bottles replaced and you save a fair amount on the cost of posting anyway.
