I have a set of simon hubs. But the initial pair Simon sent were the ones first off the machine, and the left hand thread was too tight, so my nut/spinner jammed after 3/4 turn. It just needed popping back in the machine and having a tad skimmed off it. Maybe similar thing here.

I think in my case the threads were just full of crap after storage.
Having cleaned the up they all now go on but one is still a very snug fit but does go on using a socket.
Sorry Lloyd we're polluting your thread.

    Nuts

Nice warm weekend for Cobra working! Its been a nuts weekend this weekend... aided and abetted by a new little toy, a rotary table, another nut is made and a 3rd well on its way. This bank holiday weekend coming its time to f*ck them up (ie attempt threading them). My plan is to get a mate in to help so I can blame it on him when it all goes Pete Tong!

Much easier and more accurate to machine the hex with the rotary table. Great little addition if you have a milling machine plus machining curved faces become a possibility. I got a 4" one from RDG which is about the bottom end in size terms but at £60 you can't go wrong.

However we didn't all have luck with our nuts this weekend!! I gained two but Cadbury lost two...

    Screwed my Nuts

    Quick update chaps.

After a bit of trial and error, some new change wheels and lathe tools the wheel nuts are done! Threading didn’t turn out to be too bad after all, one of those jobs where you just need to take it slow and steady. The reverse threads for the two offside nuts took a little more head scratching and beer drinking, before it dawned that running the saddle left to right would do it.

Now I need to get it on some wheels, which means getting my finger out and selling the VW so I have some more money to buy the wheels!!!
