Slave Cylinder & Mounting Bracket

I have Chevy Small block V8 with a Tremec TKO 500 gearbox (GM model). Has anyone fitted the same combination in their Cobra? I'm trying to find someone who can supply a slave cylinder and mounting bracket for this combination.

Thanks for any help. :thumb:

Re: Slave Cylinder & Mounting Bracket

Bogster,

I have a Chevy small block with a Tremec TKO (not sure about the 500 bit) and bought the clutch slave with bracket from Repower. Might be worth giving them a call.

Re: Slave Cylinder & Mounting Bracket

Thanks for the info Matt however I am using a Macleod scattershield with the TKO rather than a bellhousing. I spoke with Brian at Repower and there slave cylinder / mounting bracket is not compatible.

Re: Slave Cylinder & Mounting Bracket

Hi Bogster,

I have a Ford 393w and tremec 500TKO...and also still looking for the ideal solution.
Untill now I have 2 options
a) wilwood slave cylinder (www.wilwood.com) but is a pull type
b) mechanical (steel wire)

The chevy setup should be easier to solve because you need less displacement for the slave due to the ratio of the fork and pivot...Ford setup needs a longgggg stroke...difficult to find such a slave cylinder...

So, If you find a simple solution, let me know !

Andy

Re: Slave Cylinder & Mounting Bracket

No problems Andy, I've been speaking with classicchevy5speed over in California. They can supply me with a slave cylinder for my setup however they have told me that I will have to fabricate a bracket for it as there is not one available which is compatible with a macleod scattershield.

Keep you updated

Cheers

Re: Slave Cylinder & Mounting Bracket

Bogster,
Did thet told you which stroke and bore the slave has ?
Which master cylinder do you have ?
You want to have a light pedal ! So, it's important to choose the right combination of slave and master cylinder.
Cheers,
Andy

Re: Slave Cylinder & Mounting Bracket

..................................This is why I always advise epeople to buy their Tremec gearboxes and bell housings from Repower.

However, good luck Bogster, Skorpion.

Re: Slave Cylinder & Mounting Bracket

I had to make the bracket for my 7/8" slave cylinder to fot on to the scattershield.
If it's the same as mine there will be a bracket on the left hand side with threaded holes in it. I made my bracket to fit on to there. :thumb:
