| dax di dion front end set up Help and Advice needed. i bought my dax dion late last year , now i have been out and about for a few hundred miles mainly motorway, i have noticed that on uneven "A" roads though the car is very hard to keep in a straight line anything over 60mph. i have found most front end setting not correct , and have now set them as per dax manual . but i have one question, the top wishbone / ball joint , there is a 6mm spacer on the front edge , this is fitted as stated in the "draft" dax manual for the di dion that came with the car , however i have the latest revision manual from dax and this states , dont forget to include the 6mm spacer to the front and rear of each joint , does anyone know which is correct . thanks in advance Grant |

| Re: dax di dion front end set up the early DeDion chassis were recalled to have the front suspension set up revised in line with the current build, this was to strenghten it. sounds like yours has not had this done Mine was the last to be done IF NOT CALL DAX. Hope this helps.

| Re: dax di dion front end set up Hi Grant, Dax changed there upper wishbones during the first months... I know because my first chassis had only one 6 mm spacer on the front... because I had too many problems with my "prototype" chassis...4 months of trying to assemble..no luck... They finally gave me a new one and after 4 hours I finished the complete rolling chassis. (Can do it blindfolded now) The new upper wishbones have indeed 2 spacers each... first I heard I had to put 1 on each side. I think they did this to have more options to set it up correctly. A while ago I spoke with Peter and he told me that they find out after testriding...that it's better to put the 2 spacers upfront...if I remember correctly...because the whole setup tends to bend more as expected. I don't have the new manual yet so I don't know what this states Check my homepage; suspension section --> http://home.tiscali.be/andydebecker/index.html I am already waiting for 6 weeks for a new body because my current one has some cracks  Oooh why me ? But I hope Dax will solve this very soon. Good Luck, Andy |
