few dax questions from a novice

hello
i am pondering buying a dax kit and have a few questions as i find the price list a bit complicated.

If you built again what parts on the list wouldnt you buy from dax
Engines & gearboxes whats the most popular and can anybody name some good suppliers
Are there any helpful owners in the midlands with build sites on the web ?

I am sure i will have a million other questions to ask but thats it for now

Cheers Thanks :thumb:

Re: few dax questions from a novice

Welcome!

Not a lot to add to Dave's comment!

However what I would say is that by the time you have been to a number of shows and open days, seen numerous cars, good and bad, you will probably have a pretty fair idea of what it is you like of the Dax stuff and what you don't. They are however very helpful - they have yet to tire of my stupid questions!!

Engines and gearboxes - I have been totally satisfied and very pleased with the service I have received from British American Engines.

Top tip - if you go for a donor car - buy reconditioned callipers, they are not worth trying to repair yourself - by the time you have bought new rubbers, stripped them all off, changed the bleed nipples, painted them etc etc it is not worth the hours of effort required to get htem to standard.

Hope that helps a bit,

Jon

Re: few dax questions from a novice

Did you know that Dave can probably build you a car cheaper than if you do it yorself and i bet a damned site quicker.

If you are not that bothered about the build - think about it.

He has some nice piccies on his walls for when you visit durng the build and will do you a pair of Alicatera trousers to match with quick release velcro mechanism if you go for the furry luxury trim

Seriously - worth considering (not the trousers, the built option)
Mike
