Dax Propshaft

Guys,

I just received my propshaft from Dax however it does not fit.

I am using a Jaguar Powerlock differential which has a 3-bolt flange connection for the propshaft. I am also using a Tremec TKO 500 gearbox.

The slip yoke on the propshaft fits the gearbox spline, no problem there. It is the flanged connection which should fit to the flange on the differential which is incompatible.

The center hole is too small and does not allow the inner shaft on the differential to slide into.

Any suggestions as to if this is or isn't the correct propshaft? I've included some pics for clarity.

Thanks

Re: Dax Propshaft

Hi Bogster.
You have an incorrectly manufactured propshaft.
I have had a couple like this, the people who make the propshafts for Dax have not drilled the hole out to the right size.
You have two choices:-
Send it back to Dax and they will replace (Give Peter Walker a call first) it or;-
Find a local engineering firm who will drill the centre hole out to the right size.

Re: Dax Propshaft

Thanks Dave,

I think because I live up in Scotland I will remove the flange from the UJ and have it bored out to the correct size locally. Do you happen to know the correct hole size?

Re: Dax Propshaft

20.00mm.

Probably the hole would be better at 20.10mm giving 4 thou clearance for assembly.
