Mystery Items

Ok Troops,

Lets play the Dax 'Do you know what it is yet' game. Can anyone tell me what the mysterious items in the picture are for? Probably something totally obvious. The only thing they look remotely like is the U-bolts and brackets for the steering column bracket. But I haven't ordered that yet????

Help

Starting to get slightly concerned as there seems to be a lot of nuts bolts and washers that I haven't used yet? Is there always a bit of excess in the nut and bolt kit?

Re: Mystery Items

Mike,

Always a knob end somewhere.

I'm surprised you recognised the mouse Mike. I thought you would have used one of those straw type devices to interact with the computer. Can you still use a mouse at your age?

Re: Mystery Items

Hi Bogster,
these parts are needed to mount the steering column onto the steel hoop in the body.

Andy

Re: Mystery Items

Thanks Scorpion,

I guess they must come with the body like the hinges for the doors and the bonnet hinge. Mystery solved.:thumb:

Re: Mystery Items

I can confirm. Defenitely used in mounting steering column. The L type brackets are used to attach the sierra steering column to the dax supplied bracket. The u bolts are then used to secure the dax bracket to the scuttle hoop.

Re: Mystery Items

Hi Bogster,
I had to sleeve out 2 holes on the L-bracket..otherwise I couldn't fit the steering column without crushing the inner tube.
Succes

Re: Mystery Items

Thanks to Skorpion and Big undies.

Russ,

I know of two other people in Scotland currently building the Dax Tojeiro. I'm sure there are more. What part of Scotland are you in? I'll send the pdf file of the sva document to your private messages. What type of Cobra do you have?
