Sierra Steering Wheel

Not really technical this but does anyone have the sierra steering wheel going spare that I can borrow/beg/buy/steal (in that order) as I can not find one in any scrappies within 10 miles for love nor money! The earliset sierra's I can find are H reg which have the later column in which the steering wheel is attched by a bolt rather than a nut (which I don't have either)

I'm assuming I'll be able to get the column shroud from Dax as obviously I can't get one of these either.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Re: Sierra Steering Wheel

Hello John - i bought a brand new plastic shroud from my local Ford dealer last summer, it had to be ordered though and took a week, cost less than a tenner !

I'm still using my S/wheel at the moment though.

Dave

Re: Sierra Steering Wheel

John.
I'm pretty sure the steering wheel will still fit as the shaft still has the tapered hexagon fitting.........I think!
I also have a steering wheel you can borrow if you want to come and fetch it.

Re: Sierra Steering Wheel

Thanks for the offer Dave, still 6-7 weeks or so away from SVA so was after one I could put on now as it's getting a bit heavy to simply pull the wheels round to move it in the garage.

Might try a wheel off a newer model but I thought the newer ones where splined rather than Hex shaft.

Re: Sierra Steering Wheel

John - just been out to the garage and got the shroud. Theres numbers all over the plastic bag but there is one printed on the inside of the shroud, 83-BB-3533-BA.

Hope this helps

Essex Dave

Re: Sierra Steering Wheel

Thanks for that Dave, I know the first 2 digits of Ford part No's are the First year that part was made, so that sounds about right.

Will give them a ring tomorrow!
