Re: Harness Eye Bolt Problem

Hi All,

As suggested by many on the form I have modified the fibreglass on the rear tunnel and floor pan so that the seat belt anchors can be screwed in. A right pain in the backside.

Ho Humm, :drive:

Picture included.

Bogster (what is your real name?)

I am amazed you got the two halves of the transmissision tunnel to fit together so well.
I had to cut and re-fibreglass mine as the two pices were completely different shapes.

Have Dax changed their mould?

Craig.

Hi Craggle,

I used a heat gun like the type you use for stripping off varnish, paint, etc. :thumb: If you do it carefully enough you can get the fibreglass like putty, shape it and let it cool. It stays in the new shape just as rigid as before.

I wouldn't like to try it on anything thicker though like a boot lid which needs bent up on both ends.......but I'm thinking about it.

Re: Harness Eye Bolt Problem

Craig,

I had the same problem as I had to cut 4 holes in the rear tunnel and then refibreglass to allow it to fit. Turns out that I had been given the wrong tunnel (pre de dion) and Dax agreed to provide me with a replacement tunnel front and rear FOC. They were very helpful putting it right. New one fits like a glove.

Regards

SJ

Hi Colin.
Do you have gas rams fitted to your boot lid?
If so these will try to distort the boot lid (Even more so if a boot rubber is not fitted)
The way to get the lid back up to height in the two top corners is to tuck some electrical cable (Or small dia. rubber hose) into the seal strip )A few spots of super glue should fold it in place.) this will make it sturdier in those corners and stop the lid from over compressing it.:thumb:
