Oil cooler system

Hi,

Got my oil cooler system from Speedflow today. Anyone fitted this to a De Dion yet and if so how did you place the hose runs, inline stat, etc? I was thinking of mounting my inline stat on the chassis crossmember directly behind the radiator and run the hoses along the chassis rail to the sandwich plate.

Anyone done it differently?

Thanks

Re: Oil cooler system

Is there a particular reason you went for an in-line stat rather than an integral one in the sandwich plate??

Re: Oil cooler system

Hello Johnny

Just thought it would be easier to get at if it screws up. Save me having to get in at the oil filter which when the engine is in place isn't easy.

Re: Oil cooler system

JonnyT,

Can you clear some of your storage space on PMs. My message keeps bouncing back saying you have used up all your space.

Cheers

Colin

Colin,

I have done that now. I didn't realise I had sent messages being stored - sorry.

Re: Oil cooler system

Hi Dave,

Your picture is pretty much the way I was planning to put the stat and run the hose to the cooler. It's running from the stat to the sandwich plate which I'm unsure about. not a lot of room on the chassis rail. Think I'll run them just above the fuel line.

Re: Oil cooler system

pretty much the same as ours Dave, but I wasn't sure about drilling the cross members to get the bolts in. As I'm not an engineer and maths was never my strong point I took the view that they looked a bit important to put whacking great holes in!
