Hi Sam,
Mine passed last week with braided hose. No problems.
Cheers, Clive.
I would like to use s/s braided hose from my fuel pump to regulator,
does any one know if it would pass sva, or will i have to use normal
black fuel hose.

All depends on the inspector, some want to see the BS numbers and fuel pipe written on, is it worth the chance of a fail, just put on the appropriate rubber pipe and change after the SVA. :thumb: :thumb:

I've often been asked, "What do you old folks do now that you're retired? Well, I'm fortunate to have a chemical engineering background, one of the things I enjoy most is turning beer, wine, Scotch and margaritas into urine.
Life's good, live it.
I can't see anything in the SVA Inspection Manual that mentions BS numbers. What it does say is :-Originally Posted by Miket

I would therefore argue that braided hose is better than ordinary hose.

I don't want an arguement, I'm just stating fact, I've had 3 cars SVA'd and on 2 occassions they checked the fuel pipe for BS numbersOriginally Posted by Clive

Clive - MikeT is correct - it depends on the tester.
Also, beware, because some braided pipe is not fuel proof or even fuel tight.
Your choice, hope you get the right fuel-rated stuff and your SVA inspector decides not to be "difficult ".
Crendon has left the building................bright yellow Stag has landed.
On reading your extract from the SVA manual, I think the highlighted words should cover my point.Originally Posted by Clive

I'm with Mike and Wilf.
I've been for over 65 Kit car SVA's (5hit, is it really that many!) and if they want proof that the pipe is up to the job and you've got braided your goosed......£35 retest and possible trailer hire and anothet half a day off work. Not worth the risk.

Hi,
For my SVA I was concerned about this as I run aeroquip braided hose and fittings for fuel and oil lines. I took the relevant receipts and the spec from Aeroquip for the hose, but then no one raised it as an issue anyway.
