Has anyone got a good pic of the s/s bottom rad pipe, that shows it's position and how it is held in place.

Many Thanks

Russ

I have seen a few cars with the bottom hose running under the steering rack and this seemed way too close to the floor for my liking.

I reversed the pipe and used the following sequence of components.

Radiator into 45 degree silicone pipe - Stainless joiner into 90 degree silicone pipe - Stainless rad pipe - 90 degree silicone into water pump.

I did have to reduce the length of the stainless tube by about 3 inches. This is where the stainless joiner came from. I added the welds back on the cut ends to stop the pipes slipping off again. The braided pipe with the red end finisher connects to the bottom hose then back to the header tank.

Photos may mean more.

Craig.

Thanks Craig,

Looks very neat, but i do indeed have a de dion so there's no room to run the pipe in the same place as yours. But your right about it being very low if you run it under the steering rack, thats why i'm try to come up with a different route.

Hi Russ,

Have you got the tube?
If not if you need any S/S tube or Dairy Bends give me a shout I can pick them up for you.

Regards Steve.

HI steve,

didn't think about fabricating one myself, was going to get the one from dax. But now you have given me a good excuse to purchase a small TIG welder!

I have the Dax supplied kit on mine and it does run very close to the road. I have already dented the pipe once going over a speed bump!

Not totally happy with it where it is and if possible I would try another route!

If you do purchase a TIG you'll find it invaluable for all those little jobs, for this job alone you can adjust the tube bends at all sorts of non standard angles which you maybe couldn't achieve having a tube mandrel formed.
Once you've got one you'll wonder how you ever managed without one!

I've just been looking at mine to see where I'm going to put this - I think it should go below the front chassis cross members but above the steering rack making it pretty safe. Might need a little kink in the radiator end and a 90 but that's all.
