Dave B can you help please?

Hi Dave

Me again

I am having difficulties with the handbrake cables. I have all three cables, half moon adaptor, bracket etc but I can't figure out where the U shaped cable ends connect to the brakes

Do you have a photo that would help

Thanks

I don't hav a picture but the cable goes through a hole in the hub, there's a wire sprung washer that engages into an internal ridge in the hole to keep the cable locked in.

The u bracket at the end of the cable then slides over the handbrake operating mechanism and a pin clip then locks the two together and then swivels to lock itself back onto the cable with the clip part..

Hubs are away being rebuilt for the next week but I could dig out the old cables, clips and handbrake mechanism for you and take a pic if it'll help.

James

If you fit the handbrake plate mechanism to the hub you'll see there's a hole through the hub that's in line with the tab on the handbrake mech. You'll need to use the clip to fix the cable to the handbrake working from the rear of the hub then push the cable into the hub to fix it.
