| Glove box Just looking at doing the door for our glove box. Making the door I'm fine with but how do people do the hinges, given the curvature of the dash?

| Anybody else got any ideas about this issue. One thing I was thinking, given that I have now produced a nicely bent piece of metal to cover the glove box (which of course makes the hinge even more difficult, was to hinge it on the side rather than top or bottom. Ta Jon

| Hi, I've done this using some more traditional hinges. (little ones from B&Q) http://homepage.ntlworld.com/chedzoy...frontsmall.jpg This opens very smoothly, though it took a long time making the door part exactly the right shape so it fits nice and tight all the way round without rubbing. The hinges are set back sufficiently that they are lower than the foam/dash covering and so should be SVA friendly. I plan to fit a tiny lock like the ones from cash boxes. The dash is ply and where the hinge fits is a strip to make it double thickness firstly so the hinge has somewhere to screw into, but also to reduce the bend slightly in this area. I currently have nothing behind this as I don't have a box part the right shape so for now the door is fixed shut. I think a glove box adds a nice bit of detail to the dash. Hope this helps cheers graham |

| Hi i used tiny brass hinges but reversed them so you don't see any thing on the outside, got the lock from classic car parts with 2 keys, mine was the fibre glass door from dax but i reinforced it with a brass plate as so i could curve it this followed the natural curve in the dash. |
