Hose from Clutch Master Cylinder to Slave

Evening all Does any one have the size of the thread on the Master cylinder that goes to the Slave Cylinder. I believe that the Slave cylinder inlet is 3/8th UNF and commoin sense would indicate it would be the same , but this is a KIT .

Nigel, I used an M10 thread into the Master Cylinder with a Banjo bolt. I think the master Cylinder is from an escort - this is what Dax supplied me with anyway.

Cheers

Here's a question a bit related to the question about thread size. Can anyone tell me which of the two outlets from the master cylinder goes to the fluid reservoir and which to the slave cylinder? Also, what is the best type of pipe to use? Perhaps a Goodridge all the way or a copper to the tunnel following by a short flexi to the slave? Thanks

Bob you should be able to run a braided wire hose with banjo bolts at both end between the clutch master and slave (just one pipe). Dax supply the cable and clutch master (although at the moment they're sooooo much in my bad books its untrue, god knows why i'm refering them other than it makes life alot easier).

As far as which hole goes from the clutch master to slave...on mine (the Dax one) its the one nearest the nose of the car....the back one with hose tail goes to your brake fluid resevoir.

Thanks Simon. I'll get one made up by a local supplier once I have the engine in situ and know the length.

If you have the dax reservoir, I'm not sure how you connect the braided hose to the reservoir. Also, isn't there something in the SVA regs which states that this hose has to be marked? That is off the top of my head and I stand to be corrected.

Really fiddly job but it can be done if you climb on the Car as if you are mounting the Front Wing The Cable Dax supply is Braided and Marked with the Manufacturer which in my case was Goodyear Yours should be marked too

Hi Jonny.
The braided hose goes between the master cylinder and the slave cylinder. The hoses from the reservoir to the master cylinder are not braided.
