| The colours seem the same as on a msd unit in which case, 1 black to negative side of battery 2 red to positive side of battery 3 green and purple to distributor if using magnetic pick-up dizzy (normally two wires coming out, but no ides what dizzy you're using) 4 thin red wire to switched 12v, ie only live when you're ignition is on and cranking 5 thin white to dizzy if you're not using the green and purple wires, use one or the other, again don't know what dizzy you're using 6 brown wire goes to tachometer input 7 black coil negative goes to the negative terminal on the coil 8 orange coil positive goes to the positive terminal on the coil these are the only wires that go to the coil HTH |

| Thanks very much. Just what i needed to know. only one question....you know how you say the thin black and thin orange are the only ones that go to my coil....Does that include the ones from the wiring loom that would normally plug into TACH and BAT on the distributor? Do i not plug these 2 wires in any more? Many thanks, Si

| Wire'n up Mega-Fire box to HEI dizzy 101 Yes Tony...Mega-Fire box wires up to Chevy HEI just like MSD boxes NOTE*** REMEMBER TO ALSO INSTALL COIL GROUND STRAP FROM COIL TERMINAL IN CAP TO GOOD CHASSIS GROUND , THIS IS THE MOST NOT DONE THING WHEN WIRE"N UP THESE SYSTEMS. / DRIVES YOU NUTS! IT IS THE MIDDLE TERMINAL BETWEEN COIL + & COIL - MARKED ON CAP. PLUG IN CONNECTOR TO THIS TERMINAL AND THEN TO GOOD CHASSIS GROUND../ eg ground strap to block is good choice. Failer to ground coil in this way will leed to mid & high RPM miss fires and hard starting and other fun stuff *Fee for this lesson 1 shaved BBQ pork sandwich & 2 pints local brew. Cheers! Dr,Dee ENJOY SIMON...beers on you! HTH[/quote] |

| Si, Can't be sure not knowing the details of your loom, though as a general rule, if you are wiring in an ignition system using its primary wiring you don't need to connect the loom wires allocated for the coil. Certainly didn't on mine using an MSD 6A ignition and it works just fine. Regards SJ |
