Fitting the seats

Hi all

Bit of advice really

Do you recommend drilling the holes for the seat runners before or after fitting the carpet?

I only ask because the car is off to paint on Wednesday and it is another job I could do while I'm waiting (not fitting the carpets till after paint).

Cheers

Warren

Before, then cut the carpet round the holes. If you fit the carpet first and then drill you are likely to wrap the carpet pile round the drill bit and have a huge ladder in the carpet

Also.
To secure the seats to the runners don't drill through and nut and bolt as the nuts will be a nightmare to get to. Instead drill and tap the runners. This makes removing the seats a doddle, and is so easy you might be tempted to whip the seats out for Hoovering in the future.
