| Bonnet support rubbers The dinky little rubber studs provided by DAX are hopeless as they fail to make contact (most anyway) with the underside of the bonnet when its upper surface is flush with the body. What is required is some kind of adjustable unit that can be moved up/down to match the varying depth between the body and bonnet. With my Strato's, Hawk supplied a set of brass M5 bolts with a rubber stud bonded to the top. By adjusting two nuts up/down you could vary the depth of the stud and hence ensure contact with the bonnet was made with each and every one. Any solutions out there for my Cobra? Thanks. Bob :( |

| Thanks Craig. But gotta get it right! I might grind down some S/S M5s and bond a rubber top hat to each.

| Just had a closer look and I reckon there is about 5 or 6 on my car that don't touch. These are down the long sides of the bonnet. They are close though, only missing by 2 or 3mm so if you try to make adjustable ones they will have to be thin. Could you build the Dax rubber blocks up by super gluing on a rubber pad then sanding to the correct height? Craig.

My thoughts exactly. Or shave the top off one with a scalpel and glue it onto an existing one or the corresponding surface on the bonnet.
