| Sump Removal Does anyone know whether it is possible to replace the sump/gasket of a 383 chevy engine from the underside of the Dax De Dion chassis? I cracked my sump whilst in France and having got a new sump pan need to go back to repair it. Not having done this before I wanted to check that its physically possible with clearances, access to bolts etc. Is it a straight forward job? Can't look at my own car as it's stuck in France! Thanks SJ |

| Craig, Many thanks. I'll let you know if I'm successful. Operation Recovery has the green light from the wife for this weekend. Regards SJ |

| Fortunately no. I hit a metal stump in the middle of a gateway into a hotel we were planning to stay in. We left it in the hotel car park which was pretty secure (locked gates overnight). I collected it successfully yesterday and everything was as I left it with no damage. I trailered the car back in the end; no problem with customs. Regards SJ |

| Glad you got it back safely SJ I couldn't sleep at night if I didn't know my car was safely locked in the garage at home! Guess you didn't have a choice though. Good luck with the sump replacement. Craig.
