| Thanks Craig, Yes I am only cutting holes and test fitting at the moment, all the bright work comes off straight away. I'll just be leaving the hinges in place before it goes off next week. Andi.

| Do they not use grommits on the front then? This may explain why I'm having some difficulty!!

| Doh! complete disaster with the front bar holes, measure three times and drill in the wrong place!! I used the hoop to gauge the holes positions then forgot to adjust to the centre holes on the overider. All sorted now with a bit of fibre glass and filler So on to the the doors. Passenger door is in place but I have a larger gap at the front than the rear and the door catches the body as shown. Would I be right in thinking it's quite safe to take off some of the inside edge of the front of the door? Andi.

| Andi Is this the first time the doors have been fitted? My doors were supplied oversize and needed trimming on all faces to get a good panel gap. The rest was taken out by the paintshop when they prepped the car for painting. I did have to thin the front edges of the door shuts where you indicate, to get the doors to open cleanly. I also removed the sharp edge on the inside of the lip to produce a radiused edge. Just thought it looked neater. Craig.

| HI Andi, As Craig said, you do have to trim all the door edges to get them to fit. Plus I wish i seen this before i could have told you Dax have a set of jigs for the front nudge bars. Doh! sorry! Russ

| Thanks guys. The doors were really only 'offered' up before and the visible edge looks like it can be made to create a nice even gap all around. It's the inside that is catching on the front wings but looks quite easy to sand back sufficiently to allow the doors to open and close nicely. Passenger door needs to move forward a bit, drivers door is pretty much OK for position but just touches the wing. Still some fiddling to do before Friday. Hoop and seatbelt holes to cut. Andi.

| Odd things these doors. It looks like the handle labled LH fits on the right and RH the left, I guess they are made for an upside down car. The manual also talks about backing plates bonded into the door (for the handle) but I don't think there is one, so I have to make that and the one for the backing of the strike plate? Andi.

| My locks came supplied with the backing plate separately. This was a simple flat plate with 4 tapped holes in the corners. I just positioned this on the inside of the door and screwed the lock in from the other side. If you don't have this plate then nuts and bolts with large spreader washers would work equally well but will be a bit more fiddly to fit. I made large backing plates to spread the load on the door catches where they go through the wheel arch. Craig.

| I didn't get plates with mine either Andi - easy enough to make up though and then bolt through. Two reasons for doing them - firstly much easier to fit in the first instance but secondly if you bond them in once you've got them in the right position you can slacken off the bolts at any point to allow for fitting of things like door cards.
