Rad pipework!

Hi all! Before I start cutting up my new Dax pipe kit, I would like to make sure I haven't got things wrong. Could some body post a pic for the lower rad pipework as mine does not appear to fit. I have a ladder chassis and a big block. I understand that the SBC pipe kit is basically the same.

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers Ian.

Cheers Craig, again.

Your setup was what I expected to be sent. Looks like the saw and grinder will need to come out to play

As you can read on the post the pictures are attached to, the normal place to run the pipe was under the steering rack.

I wanted to keep it up and away from any damage it may get from speed bumps. This seemed the easiest route for me and involved minor cutting and modifying to get it in the right place. Haven't had any bleeding or air pocket problems yet so all seems good.

Craig.

No.

My lower pipe was a simple tube with a 90 degree bend on one end. All I had to do to change it was remove about 3 inches from the straight length of the tube.

There is also the smaller tube welded to the side of it to allow connection back to the header tank.

Cheers m8, as I thought. Mine my be for the Dedion chassis. As for the small pipe you mention, I requested that to be omitted. Using an old style expansion tank.

Anybody able to post a pic of the de dion pipe off the car? Please.

I fitted the de-dion kit and it is nothing like that. It is just as Craig described a 90bend with a stub on

Thanks Toddy!

So does anyone recognise a Dax bottom rad pipe like this??
I would have thought this would be a shortened SBC pipe as the big block means the water pump is nearer the front and possibly a little higher.

I'll have to get out there again and see how on earth it is supposed to fit.

Update:

Got out in the garage and found that the only way to fit my bottom rad pipe was to cut off the short 90o bend. So out came the trusty hacksaw and Bobs your uncle.

Would the top pipe fit? Would it hell! I need a 30o set in this...bugger.

Had a look at the Dax 502 today at Stoneleigh and would you believe it? They had cut the 90o bend off the lower pipe and haven't used the top rad pipe. They have used flexible pipe......
