Rattles

The damn thing rattles and it's not even on the road yet!!

After cutting the holes in the top of the body for the seat belts I though I'd clean/check the thread in the towers, picked up the wrong size tap and promply dropped it into the frame!!

Better pour in some wax or something that will solidify and hold it in place then!

Drop a couple of tap mice in the hole - they`ll sort it.

Andi, how big is the hole m8? Do you remember those bendy wire grab, clawed things hanging up in the garage when you collected the lathe?

It's a 7/16ths UNF threaded hole and however tall the boot is approximately. Not to worry, my wife makes candles for a hobby so she'll have some spare wax to drop down there, or some of that expanding foam stuff.

I'm also shattered now as the car is ready for painting, well, as far as I can tell with a day to go I've just uploaded a series of pics here. including a 44MB movie.

Try a magnet attached to some string or something similar.
Thanks for the Stoneleigh map.

The tap I had picked up was quite close to the size of the thread and I thought it was begining to bite but then it dropped straight through. Unless it can be attached on it's end and held tight it will never be able to be pulled back through the threaded hole. There is also no way at all of seeing down the hole.

Never mind, it'll be my little secret about the car

Andi. It might be worth a fishing trip with a magnetic pickup tool
