The front end of the baffles is not tight enough in the pipe.
Slide the baffle out, distort the trumpet end slightly and then push it back in. That should do it.

I welded a nut to the baffle cone and then drilled a hole in the bottom of the side pipe. A small stainless screw and some loctite holds it all tight.

It probably IS your exhaust but worth checking the alternator fan.

Had my baffles out due to a small rattle on one of them. I just left them out til the other day and boy is it quiet now.
Anyway, I cant remember if the cone section goes at the front or rear of the pipe. I put it at the rear, is that wrong? Would it do any harm if so? Matthew |

Cone should be at the front to funnel all the gasses from the 4 headers into the centre of the perforated tube.
Craig.

Rattling Sorted !!!
We have fixed the rattling exhaust.
The trumpet end was a nice fit in the exhaust, so it wasn't that. What it actually was, was the mesh tube was slidding up and down inside the exhaust and rattling around. It was sliding so much that it was marking the inside of the tail pipe. To solve it, we put a jubbilee clip on the mesh (not too tight at first), re fitted the tail pipe so that the jubbilee clip slid down the mesh until the tail pipe was in it's final position. The pipe was then removed and the jubbilee tightened. Problem Solved It is ammazing how much difference it has made to the exhaust note. It's awesome!!!! Thanks again for your suggestions. |
